Note: Rates are subject to change

Payment is by cash only and will be collected at the beginning of the appointment.

Note: All checkride fees are based on 75% for the Oral and 25% for the flight portion. In the event the applicant fails the Oral, there is no charge for the Flight Portion until the flight actually happens. However there is a re-test fee for any portion not completed satisfactorily. Usually this will be $250 or less.

Travel Policy: Most practical tests are conducted at the Burnet airport. In the event I agree to travel to your location, additional fees will apply.

Qualification / Cancellation Policies:

The applicant will not have to pay additional fees for rescheduling a practical test unless one of the following situations occurs:

• If the applicant is not eligible to test when we meet, and we cannot resolve the issue, there is no refund given and the applicant will be charged a re-exam fee once the problem is fixed.

• If the airplane is not airworthy, the applicant will be issued a Notice of Disapproval and no credit is available. The applicant will be charged a re-exam fee once the issue is resolved. NOTE: The airplane must be equipped with shoulder harnesses. I will not test in any airplane without these.

• If the applicant cancels the appointment within 48 hours for any non-weather related reasons, no credit will be given and an invoice will be sent for the test fee.

• Unforecast weather cancellations and re-schedules will be considered on a case by case basis. However if the applicant fails to get an outlook briefing the night before and does not contact me if the weather is not forecast to be at least 3000 foot ceiling and 5 miles visibility within 2 hours of the scheduled start time, and we cannot do the flight portion, there will be no credit available. If we cannot fly, the applicant is expected to show up at the scheduled time and complete the oral portion of the test. If this is successful, a Notice of Discontinuance will be issued. The applicant may then be charged for a re-exam.

Questions? Please give me a call or send me an e-mail to discuss any questions or to request clarification of any of these policies.

Pre-Test Meeting: I always encourage applicants to visit in advance of the check ride appointment. Just get in touch and we will set up a time to get together. This really helps relieve some of the test anxiety that all applicants experience.
